For many years I have been involved in the coffee industry, starting back in the early 1990's in Sydney before baristas were a thing!
At the same time I started a new direction with music - getting into sound production using a Tascam 4 track, Digital Audio Workstations (DAWS) and MIDI to produce basic tracks and sound effects and generally experiment with sound. I was the production manager at Bay FM, Byron Bay where I had several shows and assisted in developing and delivering a training program for a Youth Employment scheme.
25 years later after several children and several coffee shops I decided I would like to go and learn some music production and ended up enrolling at Tighes Hill TAFE, Newcastle - where they have an 48 channel SSL Duality desk and some serious outboard gear, like your Neve 1073, Universal Audio 1176, LA 610 and Zener (not the warrior princess) and some wicked microphones and an Atmos studio as well!
What I'm best at is editing and tweaking, so if you have a recording - whether its your band or a podcast I can work with you to add a little more pizazz (that's right I'm not afraid to use that word)
Maybe you need some sound effects added or a music bed or some reverb - you can never have too much reverb !
Rates start at $50 per hour but I'll make sure we have covered all the nitty gritty (can't help that ye olde speak) before the clock starts.
Something else I've been doing is a degree in marketing - don't ask when I started it's embarrassing. Anyway what I do know is that having a presence and exposure is very important so below you can see some websites that I have put together . Additionally I set them all up with Instagram, a Facebook page and some with Twitter also.
You do need to create content for these mediums and update regularly to get seen, its not just a matter of having a Facebook page or an Insta account you need to keep it fresh and I have plenty of ideas for that.
If you are keen to know how send me an email
Well someone had to do it and we are pretty happy with the results.
Thanks CoffeeShotStudio :)
99% of musicians drink coffee (not researched) so it made sense to help these guys. They're like family :)
We were fortunate to be able to assist in the sound production of this brand new Australian Rock Musical. Orignal music by Steve Kilbey (The Church)
We also put together the socials!
The House Band for The Road To Tibooburra are hitting the road - let's hope they don't get lost or break down on the way.
We setup the website and socials for the band!
... a group of artists and musicians who combine spoken word with original music to create rock poetry. Their performances have variously been described as lyrical, intense, smart, strange and transcendent. Drawing on an eclectic range of influences, their music is inspired by Middle Eastern riffs, swampy Delta blues, trance and the kind of smoky, guitar-fueled journeys of the Deep South.
